HERSTORY PORTRAITS:
LUCIA VALERIO FOR THE NITTO ATP FINALS 2021
The Turin Historical Archive in the context of the Tennis Nitto ATP Finals 2021 and as part of the "Turin and Women" exhibition, has launched a new section celebrating "The Queens of Tennis", four pioneer women who were active during the mid 19th to early 20th century, that breaking social conventions have helped to change the role of women, not only in sports: Paola Bologna, Lucia Valerio, Suzanne Lenglen e Helen Wills. Many thanks to the President of Associazione Collezionisti Tennis Franco Alciati that whished to exhibit, along with old postcards, illustrations, photos, books and precious objects, my Lucia Valerio, too.
